Markham Celebrates Earth Month!
Curbside Giveaway Day - Saturday, April 25 (rain or shine)
Curbside Giveaway Day is a great opportunity to celebrate Earth Day by keeping your gently used things out of the landfill.
Markham residents are invited to place their unwanted items, clearly marked “FREE”, at the curb for others to browse and take for their own use, free of charge. It’s like a garage sale without the money or hassle.
Anything that does not find a new home must be taken back in by 7PM on the same day, as there will be no special municipal collection.

Compost Giveaway 2026
Starting April 22, Markham residents can register online to pick up two free bags of compost. While supplies last.
Registration space is limited on a first come, first serve basis. Pickup events are held rain or shine.
